Because of its powerful analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, feverfew is an excellent plant for migraines, chronic inflammatory conditions, menstrual pain, premenstrual syndrome and endometriosis, as well as for arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
In addition, as a bitter herb rich in essential oils, it is a great digestive tonic.
Migraine
Feverfew is the queen of migraine herbs. It helps reduce the intensity, frequency and duration of migraines. And in about 33% of cases, it will even lead to complete disappearance of symptoms.
Moreover, when taken, it enhances the effectiveness of medications used to relieve migraines.
Note that feverfew should be taken preventively, on a long-term and consistent basis (and should be avoided during an active migraine episode). It usually takes at least 6 to 12 weeks to see significant results. When you stop taking it, the migraines tend to come back.
Menstrual Pain, Premenstrual Syndrome
Feverfew relieves inflammatory menstrual pain—diffuse pain in the lower back, sacrum, hips, legs... with a more generalized sense of inflammation.
It is also particularly useful if you suffer from premenstrual syndrome with heaviness, headaches, digestive disorders, irritability, bursts of anger or constriction.
Endometriosis
Feverfew helps reduce inflammation which, in endometriosis, is often widespread throughout the pelvic area.
Digestive Tonic
Both bitter and rich in essential oils, feverfew stimulates all aspects of digestion.
It is helpful for slow digestion, difficulty digesting fats, tendency toward constipation, irritability and headaches caused by a diffficult digestion, bloating, gas and digestive cramps.
Taken 10 minutes before meals, it prepares the digestive system and optimizes nutrient absorption.
Taken during digestion, it helps to calm cramps and bloating.
